I would like to share my ideas for the above questions, 1. Because of the usage convenience and accessibility to the information knowledge and even fallacious things. You carry the mobile device everytime with you and also if you have any questions…

I completely agree the results would be dramatically different being able to use your finger instead of a stylus. Most of students in teacher training probably own a Blackberry or iPhone or iTouch. I don't think anyone but the business…

Final thoughts and discussion

Dear Colleagues,Thank you for taking the time to discuss my book on Mobile Learning. As you are aware it is an Open Access book that gives educators and trainers the option of downloading the E-book for educational use or purchase the book. The download statistics is very good – over 16,000 downloads so far.It was an exciting opportunity for me to edit the book with authors from many countries around the world. I not only got to know the authors but I also learned about the challenges when…See More

This study was done a few years ago where the advanced features of the iPhone and the Blackberry were not available. The mobile devices today are much more user friendly and the teachers are more mobile technology advanced so the study may be more…

Chapter 13: Use of Mobile Technology for Teacher Training

Much of the teacher program study was on the use of PDAs. Many of the teachers in the study did not find the PDA as useful as a computer itself in certain circumstances. Given the change in mobile devices particularly the Blackberry phone, iPhone and even iPad. How do you think the results of this study would be different if these technologies were used? How would it be the same? What do you think was missing that would have made this study more successful?See More

Chapter 12 - Using Mobile Technologies for Multimedia Tours in a Traditional Museum Setting

To start off I can tell you as a teacher and as a parent how expensive field trips can get.  Especially to go places out of your own city - which is usually frowned upon.  I live in Evansville, IN and we don't have huge museums with amazing exhibits.  My own children were able, through a grant, to travel to Indianapolis this school year to view the King Tutt exhibit.  They were blown away it was so amazing!Let's look at a school in general and understand that with technology we can expose our…See More

Obviously, one pro to using devices students already have would be the reduced cost (both initial and maintenance) for such a project. This is true if most students own such devices, so the economic demographics would be critical. For low-income…

Chapter 11: M-learning within an International Distance Education Program

Jon Gregson and Dolf Jordaan discuss the development of an m-learning component for a distance education program in Southern Africa. This component is based “on the integration of constructivist, situated, collaborative, and informal learning theories and activities” (p. 224). The argument is made that m-learning is part of a blend of approaches that are relevant if they help to solve identified problems and shortcomings of the existing approach. It is laudable that the project staff took a…See More
